16:40 alsroot while packaging dexgtrose-2 for trisquel, it is become the problem to reuse bazaar packages as-is (some packaging related issues and current OBS can't create src debs)
16:41 so, I'm creating http://download.sugarlabs.org/dextrose/sources/2 for dx-2 src tarball (that contain all dx-2 patches applied - some deploymnet related configs)
16:41 I hope, it will be ok to use these files as "offcial" dextrose sources
17:01 though, it looks like possible to just teach obs to generate src deb files, so obs packages should be fine for trisqual and there is no need in official http://download.sugarlabs.org/dextrose/sources/2
17:18 silbe alsroot: you should talk to bernie about that (publishing a DX-2 source tarball)
17:19 alsroot silbe: there is no need in that, at the end
17:21 dfarning_afk is now known as dfarning
17:49 silbe bernie: BTW, erikos would like us (OLPC and AC) to publish git repos with our sources on git.sugarlabs.org for our 0.92 based releases.

20:12 bernie alsroot: isn't the tarball + all patches good enough for a debian package?
20:12 silbe: nice
20:13 silbe bernie: you aren't opposed to that? (cf. rebases etc.) :)
20:14 alsroot bernie: I'm building dextrose for trisquel from glucose forks w/ applied all dextrose patches, that I created to simplify dextrose coding. since it seemed that publishing OBS's src debs is pretty easy, I just did it http://bazaar-download.sugarla[…]4.0/Ubuntu-10.04/
20:39 m_anish is now known as m_anish_afk
21:21 bernie silbe: ah, sorry... i misread what you said. we could simply give him all the patches, right?
21:21 silbe: it would be even easier for him to apply them, then
21:28 dirakx has quit IRC
21:40 silbe bernie: erikos and I will discuss this and a few other 0.92 etc. related issues tomorrow. I'll let you know how it went.
21:42 bernie silbe: if we were upstream, i'd have no problem in publishing our git repo
21:42 silbe: but since dextrose tends to merge more patches than the development team does, for now it's best for us to rebase on them and not vice versa
21:42 silbe bernie: I know why you're opposed to it (rebasing), and I share that reasoning.
21:43 exactly
21:43 bernie silbe: at least, with 0.92 we should have very few dextrose-only patches left. maybe less than 20?
21:43 silbe depending on what erikos/OLPC is interested in, feature branches might be a good substitute
21:44 bernie: depends on how you count them, but the dimension is about right
21:46 the accessibility and backup series make the most difference. Everything else that's already in DX-3 (I've yet to take a look at the recent flurry of DX-2 patches, including "feedback") is the usual minor stuff.

22:27 bernie alsroot: did you find the source for the binaries used in accessibility?
22:28 alsroot bernie: found but accessibility has the feature to reuse XO specific keys, so I just disabled it for now
22:29 ..for trisquel
22:29 bernie alsroot: are you planning to create an image of trisquel suitable for using on emulators?
22:30 alsroot: we'd like to have a Dextrose-like distro running on Virtual Box.
22:30 alsroot: why Virtual Box and not qemu or VMWare? because Virtual Box is easy to use for mac and windows users, works on all platforms and is also free software
22:31 Nubae +1
22:32 alsroot bernie: actually, I just provide sugar packages for quidam, he does the entirely work
22:33 bernie: though, satellite create VB images..
22:45 bernie alsroot: ah i see
22:45 alsroot: quidam is really a nice guy
22:45 alsroot: trisquel rocks
